Questions

What are the four attachment styles?
  • Secure: Secure daters are comfortable getting close and fine with a little space. They say what they want and don’t read every pause as a sign.
  • Anxious: Anxious daters love closeness and notice every shift in it. A slow reply can feel like a verdict, so they look for reassurance.
  • Avoidant: Avoidant daters like people and also like their space, a lot. When things get close fast, they get busy.
  • Fearful-Avoidant: Fearful-avoidant daters, sometimes called disorganized, want closeness and get uneasy once it arrives, so they lean in and pull back.
How does this attachment style quiz work?

Each of the 14 moments moves your dot on one of two lines: anxiety (how much closeness and silence worry you) and avoidance (how much you pull back when things get close). Where you land on both lines is your style: low on both is secure, high anxiety is anxious, high avoidance is avoidant, high on both is fearful-avoidant.

Is this a diagnosis?

No. This is a fun, non-clinical quiz, not a diagnosis. It describes dating habits in everyday words, nothing more. The same person can land somewhere else with a different partner or a different year.

Can your attachment style change?

Your answers can come out differently with a new person or a new season of life, so think of the result as a snapshot of how you date right now, not a label for good.

Where do attachment styles come from?

The idea comes from attachment research, which began with how babies bond with the people who care for them and was later applied to adult romance. This quiz’s moments are written for dating and aren’t taken from any research questionnaire.

Do you save my answers?

No. The quiz is scored in your browser and your answers are never sent anywhere. The share images are made on your phone too. There’s no sign-up and no email. If analytics is on, we only record that the quiz was finished and which of the four styles came up, and, if you save or share the image, which style and whether it was the story, the square or the share sheet.
