Questions
What is the ick?
The ick is that sudden turn-off when someone you liked does one small thing, like clapping when the plane lands, and you can’t unsee it. It’s usually about a habit, not about who they are.
How does Ick Survival work?
You start with a date who looks perfect on paper. Each round adds one ick to their profile, 15 at most, from mild to unhinged. Tap Still dating to keep going or I’m out to leave. You see how many you survived, your type and the ick you left over.
What do the results mean?
- The Bouncer (0–2 icks): You left within the first few icks. You know what you want, and a mild ick is enough to stop the night.
- Quality Control (3–5 icks): You gave it a fair shot, a short one. You let a couple of things go, then the pattern decided for you.
- The Diplomat (6–9 icks): You stayed through the mild and the weird and left somewhere in the middle, when an ick stopped being funny.
- The Saint (10–14 icks): You stayed far into the unhinged tier. Patient, generous and very hard to scare off.
- The Problem (15 icks): You survived every ick in the deck. Either nothing bothers you, or you just really like a podcast.
Is an ick the same as a red flag?
No. A red flag is a sign someone could hurt you, like lying, pressure or disrespect. An ick is a small habit that turns you off. Icks can fade once you know someone. Red flags are worth taking seriously.
Do you save my answers?
No. The game runs in your browser and your taps are never sent anywhere. The share images are made on your phone too. There’s no sign-up and no email. If analytics is on, we only record that a game was finished and which of the five types came up, and, if you save or share the image, which type and how.
