Questions

Should I text them first?

If it’s daytime, you’re sober and the last thing they sent was a question, yes: keep it short and specific. If you texted last and it hasn’t been a few days, give it time. If it’s after 1 a.m., put the phone down.

How long should I wait before double texting?

A few days is reasonable. If the last date was actually good, one light follow-up is fine. If weeks have passed with nothing, that quiet is usually the answer.

Is it bad to text someone late at night?

Late-night texts tend to read as being up late thinking about them, whatever you meant. Write it in your notes and send it in the morning; the words will still be true.

What should I text instead of “hey”?

Reply to something they actually wrote, like a profile prompt or a story they told you, or suggest a day and a place. Both give them something easy to answer.

Do you save my answers?

No. The flowchart runs in your browser and your answers are never sent anywhere. The route image is made on your phone too. If analytics is on, we only record that the flowchart was finished and which of the 13 endings came up, and, if you save or share the image, which ending and how.
