When to use it
After a nice date with someone who did nothing wrong. Most first dates.
- Hey! I had a really nice time Saturday. I don’t think we’re the right fit. Rooting for you, truly.
- Thank you again for the coffee, that was sweet of you. I want to be honest that I’m not feeling it romantically. I hope you meet someone who sparks the way you deserve.
- Hey, I really enjoyed getting to know you. I don’t see this turning romantic for me. Take good care of yourself!
- Thanks for the farmers market walk. That was fun. My heart just isn’t in it the way it should be. I hope you find someone great.
- Hi! Thanks for a really good night. It felt more like a friend vibe to me than a dating one. Wishing you the best out there.
Questions about turning someone down
How do you reject someone nicely after a first date?
Text within a day or two, thank them for their time, say plainly that you aren’t feeling a romantic connection, and wish them well. You don’t owe a list of reasons, and you don’t need to say anything about them.
Is it okay to turn someone down over text?
After one to three dates, a text is normal and kind: it’s quick, clear and lets them reply in their own time. If you’ve been seeing each other for a while, a call or a talk in person is kinder.
Isn’t it easier to just ghost?
Easier for you, maybe. A short, clear text takes thirty seconds and saves them days of wondering. That’s the whole point of this machine.
What if they ask why?
Keep it simple and true: “I just didn’t feel a romantic connection.” You don’t have to explain more, and a list of reasons usually hurts more than it helps.
What is the jackpot?
Once a day, one pull lands the jackpot: a ridiculous text, like a breakup with a Costco rotisserie chicken. It’s for screenshots and the group chat. Please don’t send it.
Do you save what I spin?
No. Every line is ours and the machine spins in your browser. Nothing you pull, lock or copy is sent anywhere. This device remembers only your sound setting and whether today’s jackpot has landed. If analytics is on, we only record that a text was copied and which tone it was, and, if you save or share the image, which tone and whether it was the story, the square, the share sheet or the press-and-hold panel.
Every line is written by us and spun in your browser. Edit it so it sounds like you.
